Hot off the press, a report from IPSE about IR35 forum this week:

“HMRC have confirmed their proposal to change IR35 legislation has been shelved for the next year at least. This follows the campaign led by IPSE, urging Government to rethink potential changes to the IR35 small business tax, to ensure independent professionals wouldn’t be unduly affected.”

Whilst a simplification of abolition of IR35 would be welcome and, alas, isn’t imminent, at least we know we are not facing an ill thought out tightening imminently.  It’s worth contining to press with MPs and Mimisters the in fitness for purpose of IR35 and its drag on the enterprise economy.
