HMRC have announced they are to trial a new “single compliance process” for tax enquiries.
It seems the intention is to integrate typical accounts enquiry work with VAT and PAYE inspections, and there is a promise of “more collaborative apporach”.
Time will, of course, tell, whether this is a genuine change, or merely one to get maximum bang for the bucks.
