A few months ago we alerted you to Companies House moving towards identity verification for Directors and PSCs (Persons with Significant Control)
Companies House opens ID verification service on voluntary basis
At the time Companies House had said this would be mandatory from a date to be announced, Autumn 2025.
The mandation date has now been announced as 18th November 2025.
After this date, the ID verification code for Directors and PSCs will need to be entered on:
- The next Confirmation Statement when filed
- Any new formations
- Any new director appointments (presumably contemporaneously, if not at next Confirmation Statement)

Our recommendation is that those affected – Directors, LLP partners, and People with Significant Control (PSCs) get this done in the near future, to give good time to resolve any problems before mandation.
