Employers will welcome additional information to help them support employees
The free, updated guidance, ‘Time off work for bereavement’, covers:
- leave and pay on death
- death of an employee’s child
- a stillbirth or miscarriage of an employee or their partner
- parental bereavement leave and pay
- what to do, and how to support an employee, following a death
- a death at work.
It includes details of the maternity and paternity leave rules for parents who have lost a pregnancy after 24 weeks, and the 2020 parental bereavement leave rules. There is also an example bereavement policy.
