With all the recent changes in employment law ACCA is updating its suite of employment law technical factsheets. All amendments and new factsheets will be available to read and download from Wednesday 27 November.

The Technical factsheets updated include the following:

  • contract of employment
  • the probationary employee
  • working time
  • age discrimination
  • dealing with sickness
  • managing performance
  • disciplinary and dismissal procedures
  • unlawful discrimination
  • redundancy.

These have been updated to take effect of recent changes including auto enrolment, settlements legislation, changes grievance and the use of ‘the Code’ as issued by ACAS.

There are also three template document that have also been updated:

  • contract of employment
  • standard statement of terms
  • computer use policy (updated for social media).

Finally there are two new employment law factsheets, looking at ‘Employee Shareholders’ which was introduced 1 September 2013 by the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013 and ‘Settlement Offers’ which was introduced under Section 111A Employment Rights Act 1996.
