Just a reminder that Companies House deadlines for accounts are now a month shorter.
If your year end is 31 December, then the deadline is 30 September not 31 October.
And for clients with a 31 March year end, it will be 31 December but bear in mind we will be closed over Christmas, and bank holiday post may be delayed. Accounts should be sent to Companies House well before Christmas.
Late accounts attract penalties on a sliding scale.
We recommend that Recorded Delivery or similar is used for submission of accounts to Companies House, and that you track the item – Companies House don’t accept postal losses as a reason for waiving penalties.
There is a electronic filing facility, but it is cumbersome and not recommended.
